Introducing our first featured womxn writer of colour, Dr. Stephanie Han! Her featured poem, A Garden’s Bones has been shared on our blog!

Stephanie hails from beautiful Hawaii and has dedicated herself to teaching women and girls. Her programs are all offered online and she has 95% WoC enrolment – how awesome is that?

Bio: Stephanie Han’s online teaching platform drstephaniehan.com is dedicated to teaching women and girls the power of narrative through writing and literature. Her poetry manuscript ‘Passing in the Middle Kingdom’ including  ‘A Garden’s Bones’, was a finalist for the Wilder Poetry Prize. Her debut fiction collection Swimming in Hong Kong (Willow Springs Books) won the Paterson Fiction Award and was the finalist for the AWP, Spokane, and Asian Books Blog prizes. Her short fiction was recognized by the South China Morning Post, Nimrod International, and Santa Fe Writer’s Project, and supported by the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, PEN, and VONA. The inaugural English Literature PhD graduate of City University of Hong Kong, Han lives in Hawaii, home of her family since 1904.
